Uchis’ fifth studio album, “Sincerely,” has garnered widespread acclaim for its introspective depth and genre-blending artistry. It debuted at number one on the Worldwide Apple Music Album chart and number two on the Worldwide and USA Spotify Album chart. The album delves into themes of grief, healing and self-reflection, influenced by personal experiences. The poignant and first single from the album, “Sunshine & Rain,” features a clip of her mother’s voice and serves as a tribute to her mother’s memory. NME noted, “her music shimmers with confidence . . . The world is a particularly brutal place right now, but this album supplies a timely but timeless-sounding balm” and Clash commended the album as, “a record that sets the lights to dim and revels in the shadows,” emphasizing its stripped-down, honest portrayal of love.
Known for her eclectic fusion of R&B, neo-soul, Latin and pop influences, Uchis gained initial recognition with her debut mixtape, “Drunken Babies” (2012) and her EP “Por Vida” (2015), leading to her critically acclaimed debut studio album, “Isolation” (2018), which peaked at number 34 on the Billboard 200. Her second studio album, “Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios)” (2020), marked her first Spanish-language album and featured the viral hit, “telepatía,” which reached number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Hot Latin Songs chart. Uchis continued her success with “Red Moon in Venus” (2023), peaking at number four and “Orquídeas” (2024), which reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart.
Uchis’ accolades include a GRAMMY® for Best Dance Recording for “10%,” a collaboration with Kaytranada, two Billboard Music Awards for Top Latin Female Artist and Top Latin Song (“telepatía”), two Billboard Latin Music Awards for Latin Pop Album of the Year [“Orquídeas” and “Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios”)] and five Latin GRAMMY® nominations.
Beyond her musical career, Uchis is deeply committed to her native Colombia and launched her foundation, Visión Valores Y Vida, which focuses on providing essential items such as clothing, medications, school supplies and household appliances. Through her charitable initiatives and ventures, Uchis exemplifies a multifaceted artist who leverages her platform to effect positive change and express her diverse talents.
