Mora, born Gabriel Mora Quintero, has quickly emerged as one of the most compelling voices in reggaetón and Latin trap. His career began as a behind-the-scenes force writing for major artists and he gained recognition as a collaborator with Bad Bunny on multiple tracks, including “Una Vez,” which debuted at number 18 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and “Hibiki,” which charted at number five on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. Mora’s breakout arrived with his debut album, “Primer Día de Clases” (2021), peaking at number seven on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. His third studio album, “Paraíso” (2022), debuted at number three on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Albums chart, his third consecutive top 10 on the chart.
In only 24 hours, eight tracks from his fifth and latest album, “Lo Mismo De Siempre,” entered the Spotify Global Top 200, with the highest sitting at number 68, a testament to Mora’s growing global impact and, in less than a week, the album surpassed 92 million streams across platforms. The album debuted with 21 million streams in 24 hours, the second highest debut by a Latin artist this year and positioned itself in the Top 50 albums in all of Latin America (except Brazil). This album is a 17-track set in honor of the day-one fans, navigating through futuristic reggaetón and perreo sounds, true to Mora’s essence. It also incorporates some innovative trap, ballads, tropical and house fusions, centering around love, heartbreak, wins/losses and other relatable subjects. Additionally, he engaged influential collaborators, including C. Tangana, Young Miko, Sech, Ryan Castro and Omar Courtz.
